Outreach/Forum Day: A Gateway to Innovation (Aug 21)

The South African government was represented by Dr. Daniel Adams, chief director: Emerging Research areas & Infrastructure, Human Capital and Knowledge Systems, who gave the day’s opening address.

The wider public of the Cape Town region also benefited from engaging lectures over the duration of the school. Public lectures on the scientific questions motivating the particle physics experiments at the LHC and the technology needed in order to answer these questions were given at the MTN Science Center in Cape Town [on Friday evening August 6th and 13th by members of the schools organising committee.
